Bully Bear Kennels breeds for the dog every family wishes they had: deep-chested, sound-minded, and patient enough to grow up next to a toddler. Foundation lineage from Bossy Kennels.

Our philosophy

Temperament first.
Always.

The Bully Bear program was built around one idea: a great XL bully is not a poster, it is a member of the family. Every breeding decision starts there.

We raise our puppies inside the home, not behind a chain link. From the day they open their eyes they are around our children. We call this our baby practice program, and by the time they go to their families, they already know how to be around small humans.

Our dogs are bred for proportion, athleticism, and a sound frame that supports the size. Wide chest and complimenting rear. Heavy bone for joint health. A muzzle short enough to hold a bear-like head, long enough to breathe. Nothing exaggerated.

We thank Bossy Kennels for the foundation stud that brought the Bully Bear image into focus. He is the dog every generation is measured against, and the line is moving forward through him.

  • 01

    Bred for the family

Docile, loyal, patient, and capable of family-defense if it ever matters. Kids first, always.

  • 02

    Built for the long haul

Athleticism, proper bone, joint health, and a frame that holds up to the size. We do not chase trends.

  • 03

    Generational betterment

Every breeding moves the line forward. We hold dogs back if they do not improve on what came before.

The Sires

Studs of the Bully Bear line

Four males who shape what comes next. Pedigree on request.

Ace, a champagne lilac XL American Bully standing on grass with leash, side profile showing wide chest and thick frame.

Sire

Ace

"The cool one."

Champagne lilac coat, broad stance, never rattled. The one we hand the leash to first when somebody new walks up to the property.

Sire

Mancha

"The marked one."

Distinct coat patterning we hold for color in the line. A lower-key personality at home, a different dog when there is work to do.

Sire

Titan

"The big frame."

Largest sire on the property. Calm, impossibly patient, and the dog the kids climb on first. Carries the size we breed for without losing the structure underneath.

The Dams

Foundation females

Six dams. The mothers shape the line as much as the sires do.

Zoey, a tri-color XL American Bully sitting on grass on a gold-buckle leash.

Dam

Zoey

"The matriarch."

The dam the rest of the program orbits. Tri coat, perfect proportions, and the kind of patience with puppies that you cannot teach.

Luna, a lilac tri XL American Bully sitting on grass with mouth open in a relaxed grin.

Dam

Luna

"All smile."

Lilac tri. Silly, light on her feet, and reliably the first dog to greet anyone who pulls up the driveway. A sweetheart producing sweethearts.

Gwen, a young lilac tri XL American Bully sitting on a concrete pad in soft daylight.

Dam

Gwen

"The watcher."

Young, observant, and dialed-in to every member of the household. We have watched her settle a litter of toddlers and a litter of puppies in the same afternoon.

Khaleesi, a tri-color XL American Bully sitting on grass.

Dam

Khaleesi

"Mother of dogs."

Named for the way she runs the yard. Compact, athletic, and one of the steadiest mothers we have produced. Calm through every whelp.

Dam

Sweetie

"Lives up to the name."

The first dog any visitor meets, by her own choice. A producer of even-tempered puppies that take to families fast.

Common questions

Before you reserve

Are Bully Bear puppies registered?

Yes. We register through the standard XL American Bully registries and provide all paperwork at pickup. Confirm specific registry preference during inquiry.

Do you ship out of state?

We ship within the United States via ground transport with a vetted courier. Buyer covers transport. We do not air-ship XL puppies. We have not found a consistently safe option for the size.

How big will my puppy get?

Our target adult weight is 80-110 lb for females and 90-130 lb for males. Final size depends on the pairing and the puppy's place in the litter.

What is included in the price?

First round of shots, full deworming, an in-clinic vet check, microchip registration in your name, and a starter bag of the food we have raised them on so you can transition without stomach upset.

What is the deposit policy?

A non-refundable deposit holds the spot. If the litter does not produce the puppy you reserved (sex or color), the deposit rolls forward to the next litter or is refunded. We will tell you which.

Are these dogs good with kids?

This is the entire reason we breed. Our puppies are raised in the home with our own children from week one. The temperament you can read in our adults is what we are breeding back to.

What is "Bossy lineage"?

Bossy Kennels produced the foundation stud that shaped the Bully Bear program. We credit them publicly because the line they built is the reason ours exists.

Do you health-test the parents?

Hips, hearts, and basic genetics are part of our pre-breeding workup. Specific test results for the parents of any litter are available on request before deposit.
